The Story of Sweet

In 2020, I bought a bakery. My whole life I dreamed of owning one. I went to culinary school after high school and pursued a career as a Pastry Chef. I interned in New York City after college and ended up loving it, so I stayed for 5 more years and worked my way up in bakeries and restaurants.

On the side, I would make custom cakes for people and eventually started my own business full-time in Brooklyn. I had a private cake studio in what the real estate brokers would call "East Williamsburg", but really it was Bed-Stuy!  It wasn't the nicest neighborhood, but my apartment was brand new and 2-story so I lived upstairs and set up shop downstairs. I was in my 20's so I'd stay up as late as I could working on cakes and get back up at 5am to finish them.

I also started hosting cake decorating classes and that became very popular

In 2009, I met a guy from Amarillo.  Long story short, we married and moved back to Amarillo and started a family. We had 3 wonderful kids.  Even though I missed working and the fulfillment it brought, I adored staying home and raising my kids!

After 10 years of not working outside the home, life took a sudden twist. My marriage ended and it "just so happened" there was a local bakery selling so I bought it and created a job for myself.

I rebranded and changed almost everything. (Except the Cowboy, Peanut Butter and Sugar Cookies!)

We worked hard to establish new systems and create quality products. We also added a line of Gluten-Free/Vegan and Keto items and to my shock, customers would come back again and again!  Three years went by and I started seeing opportunity to make our products available and convenient for more people by opening up shop across town. I started scouting some spaces and we secured what felt like the perfect spot.

The aesthetics of each location are totally different, but the products and customer service are always the same.

The more we grow, the more I genuinely find myself in a place of feeling more and more humbled. I wake up every day thanking God for the opportunity to live out my dream and ask Him to give me wisdom and grace for the times I feel inadequate!  (Which is a LOT.)

My goal with this business is #1 - to create a sweet environment for people to immediately feel happy and at peace when they walk in.

#2 - To create high-quality sweets by using natural ingredients (nothing artificial or refined ever!)

If any of these goals aren't met when you visit one of my locations, please let me know and I will personally make it right.

Thank you SO much for being here! I hope to see you in one of my stores real soon ~
