Sweet Life Series - part 2
So did you create the picture? Putting pen to paper is always the first step. (Go back and read part one if you need to catch up!) You have to pull it out of your mind and into the realm of possibility to ever see it in reality. I liken it to baking a cake. If you ever want to enjoy that cake, everyone knows you first find the recipe and have it in front of you.
If you don’t do this, it’s WAY too easy for you to talk yourself out of it ever being possible. It just sits there like a seed that's never planted; ingredients never mixed together. “This is unattainable,” “I don’t see how this could ever happen,” and thoughts like these will constantly come to stand as road blocks. The sweet life is not going to just come to you; the verb find is key. You have to go and make it!
I've written down or literally drawn pictures of many things over the years--prayers, dreams, tiny heart desires and some crazy outrageous wishes. Not all of them have happened but many of them have. Some of them I grew out of before they ever even had the time to take root, but God has a way of weeding out what He knows we don't need or really even want. The point is taking everything seriously, becoming like a child and giving your imagination and dreams--ridiculous or not--life and space. If you want to find your sweet life, you must cut through all the noise and clutter. It's all designed to paralyze you. I know too well the older you get and the more you've been through, the harder it is to do this. Life wounds and scars continue piling up making it harder and harder to walk light and free. Throw off the weight by doing something as simple as writing out dreams and hanging them on your wall. In other words, walk into the kitchen and decide to bake a cake.

Once your recipe is ready and in front of you, we can start pulling those ingredients together and this gets exciting. I don't want to rush this part because it really is the foundation of everything. This week, really take the time to pray and ask God what should be on these pages. You want to be mindful of the unique gifts and ingredients He has placed in you and only you!
