_{This week I'm highlighting and honoring an employee who has not only been with me from day one, but who really is the backbone of SWEET.  Everyone knows you can't make the dream work without a team and as an owner, you understand the blessing of having the support of strong, loyal teammates. It's rare in this business for anyone to make it to a year; "Ooh I get to work at a bakery, this will be so fun!" they say, annnnnd...then reality hits. It's not all frosting and sprinkles. I personally think it's the funnest work and would never want to do anything else, but it's not for everyone.}

_{I got lucky when I first bought the bakery and inherited Richard from the previous owner. He is a skilled baker who does everything with precision and professionalism. He has stuck with me through all the twists and turns, from figuring things out in the beginning to now, staying faithful through all the growth and transitions we've made.}

_{I drive him crazy a lot of the time with my creative, scattered personality, but we always seem to recover and stay in tandem. He has truly become like family to me and I'm so grateful for him.}

_{Richard is the Head Baker and is in charge of all production to supply both of our locations--minus macarons, which he gladly passed off. ;-) Neither one of our cases would have anything in them without him. Even on his days off, he's still helpful and shows up for a meeting if I ask him.}

So to Richard, and all the faithful employees who may not get the recognition you deserve, THANK YOU!  Thank you for working hard every day for a business that isn't your own. No one can argue that the supportive roles are THE most important roles even though maybe no one sees you. You're so valuable and even when we as leaders may not lead you perfectly, thank you for sticking with us and continuing to give your best.
